White, crystalline powder. Can be readily esterified by the common organic acids. Unaffected when
boiled with dilute caustic alkali. Soluble in water; slightly soluble in alcohol;
insoluble in benzene, carbontetrachloride, ether
and petroleum ether.

Stabilizers, Core oils, Paint swelling agents, etc.
